For Norwegians, Christmas is synonymous with family time and traditions. We gather around the dinner table for our traditional Christmas meals, we eat our traditional 7 different Christmas cakes to our coffee, and we light the fire, a lot of candles, and snow lights. And most important – we have to make sure the Norwegian Santa (the “nisse”) is happy – so make sure to give him the Christmas porridge, so he takes care of your houses and animals. We have fun at the Christmas markets, and also have the worlds largest ginger bread town! Want to know more about Christmas time in Norway? Come see our VisitNorway Insights about Christmas.
