Summer – a season of energy! The summer season is the prime season for biking and hiking. Our mountain region has a wide network of marked trails, historic roads, paths, and gravel roads connecting our many national parks. Cycle past meadows of flowers and grazing cattle, or wander beneath the stern gaze of ancient mountain giants overlooking lakes of turquoise waters. Stop by local mountain farms and have a taste of local produce and delicacies, or sign up for guided tours to observe the shaggy and prehistoric mux oxen, or the king of the forest in its natural habitat.
